This began as a localized research initiative meant to dive into the leading figures in my community. In spirit, it was an effort to understand my town better, specifically the publicly known voices within it.
The project gradually expanded into an interview series spanning municipal, state, national, and public institutions. Each conversation represents a distinct sphere of leadership, moving progressively through levels of authority in a variety of fields.
The interviews consist of a structured set of questions, with variations depending on the interviewee and their position, reputation, public history, and other factors that correspond with the topics of discussion. Each interview is based on the core inquiry of how authority is earned, exercised, and maintained. Reports will draw comparisons between interviewees as the Arc continues.
This is an ongoing research project. With a number of completed interviews and documented analyses in file, reports will come out as the papers are written and reviewed.
